Real wax pillars with a small ghost face pressed into the front and a 3D wick that flickers like a proper flame. The moment someone realizes they aren't lit is the whole appeal.
Cozy first, spooky second — which means they earn their place on the mantelpiece through all of October rather than only on the thirty-first. Set them among pumpkins and eucalyptus and they read as autumn; group them on their own and they read as haunted.
Two AA batteries per candle give around 400 hours. The timer brings them on at the same time each evening and switches them off six hours later.
