A train winding through a snowy scene inside the globe, with Santa's sleigh projected onto the wall behind it. Two things moving at once, which is why this one holds attention longer than a plain globe.
Swirling glitter, music, and a bronze or red antique-style lantern frame. Runs from USB or batteries, so it can sit on a hall table without a socket nearby.
Set it up in a dark room on Christmas Eve and the projection does the rest.
